Spicy Chicken Avocado Soup
We have a love of most things that fall into the Mexican food category. For some of our family that also means very spicy! We most certainly inherited that from my mom and Makenna’s grandma. This coup can be made as spicy or non spicy as you’d like. Just adjust the amount of jalapeno and chipotle chile flakes you add or completely omit! The chipotle does add some yummy smokiness to the flavor of the soup. So maybe adjust the jalapeno first and just go easy on the chile flakes? Your choice of course, start with a little and then adjust as your taste buds allow! We like to top this soup with crunchy, fresh and bright flavors. Some of our favorites: sliced radishes, chopped green onions, chopped cilantro, diced tomatoes, diced avocado or plantain chips for some serious crunch! Don’t forget the squeeze of fresh lime juice and maybe a swirl of your favorite non dairy creamer! Enjoy!
Chicken Kale and Butternut Soup
I really love the combination of kale and butternut so this soup was really the perfect comfort food for me as I fight off this cold I also really try and up my green intake when I start to feel sick. It seems to always help. This soup also tastes like an upgraded and healthier version of chicken noodle soup. You can always throw in more of your favorite fall/winter vegetables to add more variety and nutrients to the soup!
Pumpkin Chicken Bisque

Butternut Squash & Caramelized Onion Soup
Absolutely! Paleo Creamy Chicken Stew

Apple Pie Smoothie
Fall is my absolute favorite season in Tennessee. All year long I anticipate those short couple months were the air is crisp and the colors on the trees are bright orange and red. I also really love the food and flavors that come with fall time. Well right now it really hasn’t reached cool weather status but I still have been craving fall foods. I’ve been making soups and stews for the past month. Recently my husband saw a recipe post from slim palate for salted caramel apple tartlets. He printed it off and stuck it on the refrigerator as a reminder that I need to make them. So every day I go to the refrigerator and am taunted with this apple tart recipe. I will make them for him eventually but honestly haven’t had the spare time dig in to grain free pastry. So I decided to fill this apple pie craving with smoothie. I tried to encompass all the flavors in to one tasty drink. Also, it still hasn’t really cooled down in Nashville so a cold smoothie is still refreshing. So if you are still in warm weather this is a great transitional drink from summer to fall.

Turkey Kale Soup
The Turkey Kale Soup recipe has been one of my more highly requested dinner recipes that I’ve shared every year on stories and now finally bringing it to the blog. We have this 1-2x per month all winter long, its hearty and incredibly delicious. You can use any leftover turkey that you’ve roasted or you can also use ground turkey - totally up to you. The best part about this recipe is that it takes very little prep and can be done the night before cooking. Toss all your ingredients in the ceramic insert of the slow cooker and place in the fridge overnight. In the morning, put in the base of the slow cooker and turn on low for 8 hours or high for 4 hours. I hope you enjoy this recipe as much as we do - can’t wait to hear what you think!
Creamy Chicken Noodle Soup
I love when the weather begins to cool, and foods shift to comfort foods. Soup is one of my favorite things about the fall and winter, and I usually enjoy it for breakfast and dinner. I wanted to make a chicken noodle soup that would store well and had a few added veggies. If you have been around here for a while, you may have noticed my love for hearts of palm noodles. They are perfect for soup because they won’t get soggy like a gluten-free noodle when left in the broth. They also freeze very well; I froze a few single-serve portions of this soup to save.

Sancocho {Whole30, Instant Pot, Paleo}
Sancocho is a broth in many Latin American cultures. It loosely translates to mean soup but if you ask Latin Americans about Sancocho they all have varying descriptions of what that soup looks and tastes like. I was first introduced to Sancocho 15 years ago, when I worked in the Garment District in New York City. There was an amazing Dominican (Dominican Republic) restaurant a few blocks away from my office and it served the most delicious Sancocho. Their sancocho was chicken based and had root veggies and noodles. It had a rich cassava broth (cassava cooked until tender and melted) and was the perfect "pick me upper" lunch on a dreary New York City winter day. It has been a crazy wintry Spring week in Colorado. We don't get these types of dreary snowy weeks often but when we do they tend to feel so heavy and boy is this week one of those weeks where the sun is just hiding behind snow clouds. So I really wanted something warm and comforting for dinner.
Immunity Boosting Green Soup
Green vegetables are a nutritional powerhouse and we all could could use more green veggies in their diet. This creamy nourishing soup provides a big dose of that green goodness along with other immunity boosting ingredients like bone broth, garlic and turmeric. The leeks and broccoli are a wonderful combination, and the spices and aromatics enhance the flavor further. If you want an extra dose of indian flavors, do the final tempering step and watch it sizzle with delight! You can add other green vegetables like kale, zucchini and peas as well.
Shrimp and Chorizo Chowder
This hearty chowder is one of the best comfort food soups I’ve had. It achieved the miracle status of actually being eaten by everyone in my family (minus a few shrimps from my child who doesn’t like them). But everyone enjoyed it, slurped it, and dipped toasted baguette pieces in it.
Copycat Panera Broccoli Cheddar Soup
This copycat Panera Broccoli Cheddar Soup is not trying to be anything other than the original—it's not upgraded, healthier, or even better. Our goal was to create a soup that hits the spot when the craving strikes for this velvety and comforting soup. So we spent a lot of time trying the soup at Panera, dissecting its ingredients, and recreating the recipe over and over.
